guam... such a nice place!!

far away, in the north pacific ocean there is a small island named guam. guam is an island in the group known as micronesia, the island was originaly discovered by magallanes and nowadays is part of the united states of america since the second world war (so it's president is george w. bush). The island has a surfece of 549 km² and 164,000 citizens. its economy depends of turims (has one million visitors per year).
guam's demography is composed by 25% of philipinean and 47% of chamorros.

guam oficial languages are english, japanesse and ... chamorro, below you will find some basic phrases in chamorro:
  • hafa adai «Hello»
  • hafa tatmanu hao? «how are you?»
  • hayi na'an-mu? «what's your name?»
  • si antonio yo' «i am Antonio»
  • buenas días «good morning»
  • buenas tatdes «good afternoon»
  • buenas noches «good night»
  • adiós «bye»
  • asta agupa' «see you tomorrow»
  • si yu'os ma'ase «thanks»
  • buen probechu «nothing at all»
  • amigo «friend»
  • guahan «Guam»

as you can see chamorro is very similar to spanish but has some diferences probably due to the influence of japanesse or any kind of malasian...
